| FIRST 5 SAN BENITO FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES Introduction First 5 San Benito has set aside funds for Emerging Opportunities. The purpose of this funding stream is to respond to previously unidentified and under identified needs of children ages 0 to 5 and their families. Funding requests must fall within the funding priorities that are listed in the most current Strategic Plan. First 5 San Benito's Strategic Plan may be accessed on this website or by calling 831-634-2046. Application Interested applicants should complete the requested application and project budget forms and submit one electronic copy to caseycastillo@sbcglobal.net. In addition, 4 hard copies should be mailed or hand delivered to: Casey Castillo, Executive Director First 5 San Benito 1011 Line Street, Suite 10 Hollister, CA 95023 Availability Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis while the Emerging Funds are available. An Ad Hoc Program Review Subcommittee consisting of First 5 Commissioners and First 5 staff will review any Emerging Opportunities Funding applications submitted. Special agency representatives may be invited to become part of the Ad Hoc Review Committee if special expertise is needed. Final recommendations will be brought back to the full Commission for final discussion and approval. The total amount of the 2006-2007 Emerging Opportunities Funds pool is $50,000. While the First 5 Commission has not set a cap on the amount of funds that can be requested, applicants are encouraged to request smaller amounts so that we can address as many emerging opportunities as possible.
